Ocean Heights – Dubai
Ocean Heights in Dubai is a striking skyscraper and a symbol of contemporary luxury living. The high-rise, opened in 2010 in the Dubai Marina district, offers spectacular views of the man-made island "Palm Jumeirah." Particularly impressive are the spacious balconies, which are accessed via floor-to-ceiling sliding elements. For this project, 1,250 parallel tilt-and-slide fittings from Gretsch-Unitas were supplied. Even with very large and heavy elements, they ensure maximum operating comfort thanks to their smooth-running technology. The integrated tilt function impresses with high stability and is secured against extreme wind loads by particularly robust scissors – a decisive factor in a building that rises more than 300 meters into the sky. This combines modern design with technical precision and creates an exceptional living experience.
Technical features and planning
The apartments at Ocean Heights are equipped with spacious terraces, accessed via PSK patio doors. For this purpose, 1,250 fittings with forced control GU 968/150 mZ were used. This solution ensures safe and durable operation even with high sash weights and large opening widths. In this way, Gretsch-Unitas contributes to the combination of exclusive architecture and reliable technology.
Our products in use
For the Ocean Heights project, GU supplied 1,250 parallel tilt-and-slide fittings with forced control GU 968/150 mZ. These systems offer smooth operation, a secure tilt function even under high wind loads, and long-term functional reliability for the floor-to-ceiling terrace elements.
With the parallel tilt-and-slide fitting, the sliding door can be easily tilted for convenient ventilation. The robust scissors keep the sash securely open even in strong winds. The fittings for large and heavy elements are additionally equipped with a forced control (mZ), which pulls the sash across its entire width when closing and returns it to the tilt position when opening. This guarantees easy handling and maximum comfort.
