520 West 28th Street, New York City

Zaha Hadid's international body of work is largely defined by graceful curves inspired by nature. This is also true of the 11-storey residential building with 39 unique residences in New York's Chelsea district, which was completed posthumously.
Exceptional living in the heart of Chelsea

520 West 28th Street – Elegance meets urban living

With 520 West 28th Street, the architectural firm Zaha Hadid Architects realized an exceptional residential building in the heart of Chelsea – directly adjacent to the High Line. The 11-story building with 39 individually designed luxury residences is a posthumous masterpiece by the star architect. Characteristic are the flowing lines and organic forms of the façade, which bear Hadid’s unmistakable signature and blend harmoniously into the urban environment. The building combines architecture and art into a sculptural statement of modern living – defined by technical precision, spatial elegance, and the highest design standards.

Architecture in motion
Zaha Hadid’s design deliberately breaks with the rigidity of conventional residential architecture. The façade, made of hand-polished, curved metal elements, creates flowing lines and a complex network of shapes and levels. This not only ensures a striking appearance, but also provides structure, privacy, and security – exclusive and unique.
