Münster Osnabrück Airport – Efficient and secure for high passenger volumes
Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) is a major regional airport in northwestern Germany. Its catchment area includes over six million people and extends across Münsterland, southwestern Lower Saxony to central Emsland, the northern Ruhr area, as well as parts of the Netherlands, including the Twente and Achterhoek regions. Parts of East Westphalia-Lippe are also included. This location within a dense economic and tourist network makes FMO a central transport hub for national and international connections. The airport's architecture was designed by Dipl.-Ing. Gabriele Willeke and focuses on functionality, clear routing, and inviting openness.
The airport consists of two interconnected terminals. The ground floor houses the check-in counters, baggage claim, and arrivals area. The upper floor contains the departure areas with security checks, gates, restaurants, and shops. A visitor terrace invites guests to linger.
